Summer Holiday Anyone?
As we ease gradually out of lockdown, there are still so many things up in the air about what we can and can’t do, and one of those things is travel.
If you’re hoping, like me, that we might still be able to go on our summer holidays, then here are some things to start thinking about:
Are your family’s passports still in date (& have 6 months left on them after the date of your return)?
Do you have adequate travel insurance in place, as well as an EHIC guard if you’re travelling to Europe (they’re valid until 31st December 2020)?
Have you got the correct documentation in place if you’re planning on driving while away?
Have you confirmed your holiday with your travel agent, or with the airline/accommodation if you’ve booked directly?
Do you need a visa?
Do you need any injections?
Check your luggage allowance (both hold & carry on).
Have you planned your route to and from the airport (including parking if need be)?
Have you got care for your pets in place?
Have you arranged for someone to keep an eye on your house while you’re away?
Do also keep an eye on the FCO website for specific guidance on the country you’re planning on travelling to as things are changing all the time. Don’t forget to pack your face coverings and hand sanitiser too!
When it comes to packing, I have a travel checklist that lives in my suitcase, so I don’t need to re-think the list every time we go away. I find it makes packing so much easier and quicker, so if you’d like a copy of it, please click here and I will send you a copy to download for free.
